This is the number one question that we are asked. Once most of our clients actually see the size of our pods their fears melt away. The inside dimensions are 9ft. long X 6ft. wide with a 4.5ft. ceiling. Plus you have to remember that you are in total control of your float. This means that you control the lid and the lights. If you would rather float with the lid open and light on, that is totally your choice.
We recommend floating nude to get the full sensory deprivation experience. Although a bathing suit is optional, it would quickly absorb the dense salt water and become heavy and distracting.
Just bring yourself! We provide towels, washcloths, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, makeup removal wipes & earplugs. We also provide access to hairdryers but you will need to bring your own brush/comb.
Yes! Floating can be very beneficial for women who are pregnant. The zero gravity environment provides much needed relief from the extra strain on the body during the second and third trimesters. Many women have reported having a profound bonding experience with the baby during floating and can even hear the baby's heartbeat! We do ask that you discuss any concerns you have with your physician prior to floating.
We ask that you do not float while you are menstruating.
We let all floaters know that you will need to wait 2 weeks after coloring hair to prevent the salt water from stripping the color. If you no longer see color running after washing your hair, you should be fine.
If you fall asleep during your session, the water keeps you floating while you rest. Turning over would require conscious effort and the salt water would wake you immediately if you happen to get it in your eyes or mouth.
We recommend waiting around 6 weeks after any tattoo or piercing. The high concentration of salt on a fresh tattoo or piercing would be uncomfortable.
You must be 18 years old to float. No age limit otherwise. If you have mobility issues you would need to bring a caregiver to assist you.
We utilize a state of the art filtration system that uses UV light, Ozone, Bromine and cartridge filters to create the most pristine aquatic environment possible. Plus the high concentration of salt creates an environment virtually uninhabitable by microbes. The exterior/interior touch points of the pods and all touch points in the room including the floor are cleaned with an EPA approved sanitizer between each and every float session. The water in the pod is "turned over" 10 times per hour. This means the entire contents of the pod is piped out, filtered, sanitized and returned to the pod 10 times between floats.
